2019 NASP Eastern National Archery Tournament
Last week, the SMCA Archery Team competed in the 2019 NASP Eastern National Archery Tournament, at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, joining over 15,400 archers from 26 states who also qualified through their state tournaments. SMCA competed in Bullseye and 3-D, and also a Centershot ministry tournament. Individual highest scores were: Peter (287), Faith (281), Josh (272), Hannah (270), Juliana (270), Savannah (268), Tory (264), Christian S (263), Aidan (262), RJ (262), Christian L (258), Layla (257), Izzy (254), DJ (251), Jaiyana (243), Andi (243), Jazmin (234), La’Nyia (230), Johnny (229), Meckenzie (221), Kalia (216 at Western Nationals in Utah), Joseph (194), Christopher (191), Caleb (186). Some of the team heard a Christian testimony from professional archer, Nick Harp. SMCA’s team improved from last year, and 2 archers qualified as individuals for the NASP World Championship: Peter Beil finished 21st in 3-D (out of 1228 middle school boys) and 80th in Bullseye (out of 3205 boys), and Faith Crawford topped all high school girls from Maryland in both competitions.
