SMCA would like to congratulate Collin Horton for being the Capstone award winner for this 2018-2019 school year. Capstone is a senior class in which students pick a controversial topic and study it from three different perspectives. Students must research their topic by writing a 10-12 page paper, conducting a week-long implementation, interviewing an expert on their topic, and presenting their findings before a panel of judges at the end of the year. The judges were very impressed by all of the seniors’ presentations, but they found Collin’s speech to be the best in both content and delivery. In addition to delivering his presentation during awards night, Collin will receive a trophy and a $250 scholarship.
