Mustangs Give Back
Every year our Mustangs, big and small, partake in different community service projects in order to give back the community. Check out a few from 2019:
Food Drive
The National Elementary Honor Society collected over 650 items to donate to the Charles County Children’s Aid Society.
Walk to End Homelessness
Students raised money and joined others in the community at the annual Walk to End Homelessness.
Lifestyles Thanksgiving Food Distribution
Students participated in the Lifestyles Thanksgiving Food Distribution event at Will’s Memorial Park in La Plata. Over 665 Thanksgiving baskets were provided to those in need in the community. Students worked alongside members from Lifestyles of Maryland, churches, the States Attorney’s Office for Charles County, Charles County Sheriff’s Office, and other local volunteers. Students learned valuable lessons at the event, such as being thankful for what they have and the importance of helping those in need. The volunteers working at the event truly embodied Acts 20:35, “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'” It was an awesome event seeing students give back to their community and lend a hand where needed.
