Physics at SMCA

Physics is a class designed to inspire students to understand the behind the scene components of the world around us. In Physics at SMCA, we have created an environment that is conducive to all learning types. Two classes during one class block, has created the space for different learning outcomes. We have the physics section for those who aspire to go deeper into the content and apply it farther than what the state standard requires. We also have a section of physics that caters to those who want a little more one on one attention with the details. Both sections enjoy interactive lessons, labs, and activities that create a safe and fun environment to study physics.

An example of an interactive activity is the physics escape room. Our physic students faced an escape room situation in which they had to solve problems derived from Newton’s laws of motions using clues hidden in different assignments. Students tackled these puzzles with enthusiasm and were able to beat the clock.
