SMCA - More Than Conquerors
Our Theme Verse for the 2020-2021 school year was Romans 8:37 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.”
That verse could not have been a better choice for this school year. SMCA did not only survive a year of masks, mandates, social distancing, virtual and hybrid learning…We conquered it through Him that loves us! This year has been covered in prayer and we cannot thank Him enough for a successful school year.
Check out our t-shirts we had made to remember the year we conquered through Him and the testimonials from some of our teachers:
I have been teaching here at SMCA for 14 years, and this has been one of my best years. Why, I asked myself, because this year’s challenges helped me to become more organized and more prepared. It caused me to reach out and encourage parents, who I really enjoyed working with. But most importantly this school year allowed me to trust God more, and to rely on His power which helped me to love, nurture, and teach my students this year.
Wow! I feel like Joshua and the Israelites as they walked into the Promised Land. Just like the stones the Lord had the Israelites set up as a memorial to what He had done for them, I feel we all need to do the same. Personally, He has helped me navigate through this year of Covid, social distancing, masks, Maroon/Gray Day schedule, virtual learning, Zoom, hybrid learning, Google Classroom, packet pickup, 4 days in class learning, dual projection of Zoom so everyone can see the board and all that with & without an extra person in the room to help depending on the day. I picture my students, parents, and myself at the top of the memorial victorious because of the seemingly unbelievable learning that occurred this year. It doesn’t make sense, but God! He has made us more than conquerors, and we must not forget. To God be all the glory, honor, and praise! May we move forward living our lives every day showing our recognition and appreciation for all our Sovereign Lord has done and continues to do for us!

“Have a triple G day!” This is the phrase I would usually tell my close friends. “Give God the Glory!” Isaiah 43:7 mentions how God created us for His glory. Whatever comes our way each day, God should receive the glory.
The year 2020 has affected every life worldwide! From economy to travel to social functions to the educational system to the way we worship! Every facet of our lives was changed! But thanks be to God that His promises never change. We can always trust in His Word no matter what comes our way. Being conquerors through Christ became a reality for those who love Him! I never expected that my wife and I would be a part of the COVID 19 statistics. We were confident that it wouldn’t happen to us. But God allowed us to experience the dreadful effects of this pandemic. For weeks we struggled to survive but through it all He proved Himself to be true and we felt His presence and comfort as we trusted in Him and left everything in His loving hands. At one point I realized how fragile our life is, and we are not promised of tomorrow – but when we have God, we will always be safe in His arms no matter what. Neither death nor life will be able to separate us from the love of God – these are only two of many things mentioned in Romans 8:38. Since Jesus Christ conquered sin and death, we too, can conquer anything that tries to hinder us from living a life worthy of His glory and praise and the end of Romans 8:37 assures us that we are more than conquerors through Him that loves us!
Oh God, we give You all the glory!
