The Flowering Cross
Every year for the past few years, our preschool, kindergarten, and elementary students bring flowers to our cross. What starts as a simple, wooden symbol reminding us of Christ’s atoning sacrifice for an otherwise lost world, blossoms into a beautiful picture of hope springing forth for the world! Our cross partners with the story called, “The Flowering Cross” by Beth Ryan—telling the story of a little girl who shares the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus with her neighbor. This narrative shows our kids that you are never too young to be a light for Jesus to the world. We celebrated this past Friday by bringing our flowers to the cross and giving thanks for the hope we now have in Christ alone, by faith alone.
