National Honor Society Inductions

Our National Honor Society (National Elementary Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society & National Honor Society) memberships are ones that are held very highly at SMCA. Students works hard to get into these societies and continue their commitment and dedication throughout the duration as they keep their up their GPAs and perform service projects across the community. Below are photos of this year’s inducted members and a word from our National Junior Honor Society President.

Being a member of the National Junior Honor Society has impacted me in many ways as I progressed into high school.  It has allowed me to enter high school confidently and proudly.  As I reflect over the last three years, I can surely say that I have grown personally and as a student by keeping  my commitment to the five pillars of the National Junior Honor Society.

Through commitment of Scholarship, I strive to learn and grow academically.  I seek to learn and maintain my desire to always do my best academically.  I challenge myself every day so that I can one day contribute in a positive way through the knowledge I have gained and through the talents I acquire as I progress through each year.

Through my service to community, I keep a servant’s heart and mind and strive to help others always.  I look for ways I can help one individual or a group of individuals.  One small act can go a long way.  Whether it is to help a new student getting around the school or to help raise money for important charities like the Catherine Foundation.  Even a smile could be the difference in making someone’s day.

Through leadership, I strive to lead by example in a humble but impactful way.   I have built up the confidence to take charge of situations and own the responsibilities that come with it.  I hope through my leadership, I can inspire others to grow, strive to always be their best, and make positive impacts in meaningful ways.

Character requires integrity, respect for others and responsibility.  This pillar has helped me to be honest, fair, and trustworthy.  I strive to always respect others and take care when building relationships with peers, teachers, and the community.  Through character I hope to be a good influence for others to follow and to do the same in their daily interactions.

Through citizenship, I have established lasting and positive relationships with members of our school and the community.  I contribute where I can and learn to understand the concerns of others, ultimately making a difference in our community and the future.  Good citizenship should be a duty of each and every one of us.

These five pillars have helped me to become a positive and well rounded individual and hopefully will continue to displayed in everything I do as I enter high school.  These pillars are the foundation for which I hope to become a positive member of society and in return hope to help others to embrace these core values in their own lives.
