Mustang Streaming

When the NFHS Network, which streams live and on demand high school sports and activities, offered a free Pixellot camera system with installation, our coaches were excited! Many had noticed the eruption of cameras in the public schools as Covid continued and already had subscriptions of their own. Now SMCA grandparents, other relatives, and family friends as well as a parent on travel will be able to watch their loved ones on the court. No camera operator is required–auto-tracking features enable the cameras to follow the action with panning and zooming, and score graphics sync with the scoreboard. Fans may find the games by clicking upon “Team Schedules” under our Athletics menu or by visiting NFHS Network’s site, which currently charges $11.99/month or $79.99/year. The Network allows three devices to login at the same time and allows for up to twelve concurrent streams simultaneously on one or multiple devices.

There are so many benefits to watching game film for our athletes–especially losses or poor games. It’s much easier to correct a mistake when the athlete has a clear and full idea of the mistake and how to fix it. Furthermore, our Mustang athletes will be able to look at their positioning and footwork while strategizing how to set up moves, steal the ball, etc. Junior Desmond London said, “The camera will give us the opportunity to study our game at another level. It will be so beneficial to understand plays and options in a more clear way.” Junior Chancellor Freeman added, “No longer will we have to rely on parents taping. It will be great to study a play without a head or passing person blocking the view for a moment. And the clear and full scale view will be so much better than phone quality.”
