At SMCA, you only have to be the new kid once. Our family-friendly environment allows your child to travel through our programs as early as age 2 and continue through high school graduation.

Early Education admissions for the 2025-2026 school year now open.

Please be advised that several grade levels at Southern Maryland Christian Academy are currently experiencing a high volume of applications, resulting in wait pools. If you are interested in enrolling your child, we encourage you to submit an application as soon as possible to be considered for a potential opening. For further information, please contact Adrienne Glista in the admissions office at 301-870-2880 or adrienneglista@smcaemail.com.

Each student’s application must include several important documents needed to form a complete application. The exact forms you need to complete will depend upon the grade to which you are applying. You can check the status of your application and the receipt of these documents through your Application Account – FACTS Portal on the Application Checklist. Checking your portal profile frequently will let you know what remains missing on your student’s checklist. SMCA offers rolling admissions pending upon availability in the classroom with two-week application processing time frame.

Admission decisions are carefully considered by the admissions team, after reviewing the completed application, including supporting documents (see application checklist below).

Wait Pool

We are committed to maintaining small class sizes and a low student-teacher ratio. When there are more applicants than openings, applications are prioritized before screening/testing. We do not share data about the number of students in “Wait Pool”. A wait pool allows students to remain in consideration for admission should space become available, at which time we can move forward with the admissions process.
